Selecting Your Nike Football Cleat It used to be fairly easy to pick a football cleat. The color choice was usually black or white and it was made of leather. There wasn’t much else to it. When choosing which nike football cleats is the one for you, there are many different factors you must take into account. There’s far more selection nowadays than ever before. What style is yours? As a lineman, high-top cleats are usually the better choice. They support lateral movement, which protects your ankles more. This support is important when battling in the trenches. If you’re a WR, DB, QB, or RB, you count more on speed, quickness, and agility. Low-tops are the way to go here. These weigh less and give more freedom to maneuver or put your agility to use. However, many skill players are beginning to appreciate the mid-cut cleats more than they used to. While not losing any of their maneuverability, they give more support to the foot and ankle. Which cleat is for you? The molded cleat is just that. The cleats are molded to the shoe’s outsole on the bottom of the shoe and cannot be removed. This offers great traction on most surfaces. Detachable cleat is a removable cleat. The studs can be removed and replaced at the bottom of the shoe for any reason and in any conditions. These shoes are more flexible to use, yet are more expensive than molded cleats. Which material do you prefer? Leather uppers are more traditional. They have good breathability and flexibility, which gives the shoe outstanding comfort. They are also extremely durable. Synthetics, while being less expensive, are not as durable as leather shoes. They also have less breathability than a leather shoe does. Nike makes more than 20 different styles for men and boys. The prices for men range anywhere from $80-140 or more. For boys, prices start at $40. These include such styles as the Land Shark, the Zoom Boss, and the Zoom Super Bad. Also included are the Air Zoom Super Speed, Zoom Flyposite, and Vapor Jet. The Land Shark and Zoom Boss models are very good for traction and lateral movement. The Zoom Super Speed and Zoom Flyposite use updated technology that makes them lightweight, but very supportive. And a very good component of any Nike shoe is that you can create what you like using Nike.com’s NIKEiD application. While not available for every football cleat, it can still be used on a wide variety of shoes. While it’s not available on every football cleat, it’s available on enough of their selection for you to take advantage of. You can customize the shoe just as you like. From color to material to the fit, you can create a shoe perfect for you, but remaining within your team’s concept, too.
